I can’t believe it has been a month of me working at Decision Innovation Solutions. Throughout my short time at DIS I have already learned so much and have had the opportunity learn from and work with such great people and am very excited to continue to learn from working with such outstanding professionals.
As the Marketing and Communication Intern my job is to implement the social media strategy, maintain a strong online presence, as well as managing the monthly newsletter, web content and the blog. I will be working for DIS through this summer and will continue when I go back to school in the fall.
My love for Agriculture started at a young age and has grown ever since. I grew up on a family farm in central Iowa where we have been farming corn and beans for decades as well as baling our own hay. Besides farming we also have had a ton of animals throughout my life. I grew up raising horses, cows, chickens, goats, donkeys, cats, dogs, ducks, and many more. We grew up showing these animals in 4-h which developed into my sister and I traveling all over the United States competing in rodeos. Growing up in this environment has created my strong passion for the agriculture industry and was the motivation by pursuing a career in that field.
I am currently a senior at Northwestern Oklahoma State University studying Agriculture with a double minor in business and communications. As well as pursuing a degree I am also a member of Aggie Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National College Athlete Honors Society and am on the rodeo team competing all over Oklahoma and Kansas in barrel racing and goat tying.
I will be graduating from NWOSU in December of 2022 and plan to continue to grow my love for agriculture in whatever career path I decide. I am still uncertain of my plans following graduation but DIS is helping me to grow my knowledge and putting a foot in the door to being successful in my future.
I have loved my first month at DIS and can’t wait to see what the future holds. I am very excited to help market this company and continue to learn along the way.
