Alex
At Decision Innovation Solutions, Alex’s role as a research analyst involves compiling, managing, and analyzing data, as well evaluating industry trends. Alex conducts economic impact and contribution analyses, while also writing reports and articles on behalf of Iowa Farm Bureau, to assist clients in making informed and tactical business decisions.
Alex’s passion for agriculture grew throughout middle school and high school as he attended summer agriculture camps at various land grant institutions. Alex received a B.S. in Agribusiness from Prairie View A&M University where he conducted research on the optimal nitrogen rate for niche crops such as strawberries, goji berries, Egyptian spinach, and amaranth. He later received a M.S. in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University where his thesis focused on farmers’ lending preferences.
As a research assistant, he published extension articles on numerous topics such as farmers markets, brand reputation, and inflation. After graduating, Alex interned with the USDA-Foreign Agricultural Service in Canada where he analyzed industrial hemp and sweet cherry production to create commodity reports for the Global Agricultural Information Network.
